Welcome to Postbrew. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

01Service Description

Postbrew is a private coffee brewing lab that helps you master your craft through deliberate practice. The Service provides:

Brew Logging: Track pour-over and espresso brews with detailed parameters (temperature, dose, grind, time, etc.)
AI Pattern Detection: Receive personalized brewing suggestions based on your unique brewing history and Better/Worse feedback
Dial-In Mode: Iteratively refine your brewing technique with baseline tracking and one-variable-at-a-time methodology
Experiments & Journals: Document brewing sessions, coffee experiments, and tasting notes in a structured format
Coffee Collection: Maintain your personal coffee library with notes and brew history
Brewing Insights: Analyze your patterns over time to understand your unique brewing fingerprint

Privacy-First Philosophy:

All of your brewing data is private by default. Postbrew is a personal brewing lab, not a social network. We focus on helping you brew better, not on sharing or comparing.

02Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account via WorkOS authentication
You must be at least 13 years old to use Postbrew
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
One account per person; you may not create multiple accounts

03Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

Violate any laws or regulations
Infringe on intellectual property rights
Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Scrape or automatically collect data from the Service
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the AI model or algorithms
Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
Attempt to bypass security measures or access unauthorized areas
Use the Service for any automated or bulk data collection

Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or permanent termination without notice.

04User-Generated Content

Your Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you create on Postbrew, including:

Brew logs and tasting notes
Experiment journals and notes
Coffee collection and personal descriptions
All data and content you enter

License You Grant Us

By using the Service, you grant Postbrew a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

Store and back up your content securely
Analyze your brew data to generate AI insights for you personally
Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve AI suggestions for all users
Incorporate community-validated brewing patterns into AI prompts (anonymized)
Train our own AI model using aggregated, anonymized data in the future

How We Use Your Data for AI Improvement:

Personal insights: Your complete brew history is analyzed by Claude API to provide personalized suggestions
Aggregate learning: We analyze anonymized patterns across all users (e.g., "85% of users who increased temp on natural Ethiopians marked it Better") to improve suggestions
Future model training: We may fine-tune our own AI model using aggregated, anonymized data to provide better, coffee-specific suggestions

Privacy Protection: We do NOT use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties. Any AI learning uses aggregated, anonymized data only—your specific brews are never identifiable (e.g., "500 users found X effective" not "User Y did Z"). See our Privacy Policy for details.

05AI-Generated Suggestions

How AI Suggestions Work

Postbrew uses Claude (Anthropic) to analyze your brew history and generate personalized suggestions
Your brew data is sent to Claude API in real-time to detect patterns and provide insights
We store all suggestions, brew data, and your feedback in our database
Aggregated, anonymized data from all users is used to improve suggestion quality for everyone
We may incorporate community-validated patterns into AI prompts (e.g., "users found higher temps work well for natural process coffees")
We may train our own AI model in the future using aggregated, anonymized data

Disclaimers & Liability

AI suggestions are provided "as-is" for informational purposes only
We make no guarantees about the accuracy or effectiveness of AI recommendations
You are solely responsible for your brewing decisions; we are not liable for any results
AI-generated content may occasionally be incorrect or incomplete
You can dismiss or ignore AI suggestions at any time
You can opt out of AI suggestions entirely in your settings

Third-Party AI Processing: Your brew data sent to Claude API is processed according to Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service and is not used to train Claude models. However, we store your data internally and use aggregated, anonymized patterns to improve our own suggestion system and may train our own model in the future.

06Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of Postbrew is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

All data is private: All brew logs, experiments, journals, and notes are private and only visible to you
No public profiles: Postbrew is a private brewing lab, not a social network
Aggregated data only: Only anonymized, aggregated patterns are used to improve AI suggestions for all users
Industry-standard security: We use encryption, secure authentication, and best practices to protect your data
Reliable infrastructure: Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL database + object storage)

07Third-Party Services

Postbrew integrates with the following third-party services:

WorkOS: Authentication and user identity management
Supabase: Database, file storage, and backend infrastructure
Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered brew pattern analysis
Google Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics
ContentSquare: User experience analytics

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. By using Postbrew, you also agree to their terms.

08Intellectual Property

The Postbrew platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Postbrew
You may not copy, modify, or distribute our platform without permission
The Postbrew name, logo, and trademarks are our property
User-contributed coffee database entries become part of the community database

09Disclaimers & Warranties

Service Provided "AS IS"

Postbrew is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not liable for:

Inaccurate AI suggestions or brewing advice
Data loss or corruption
Service downtime or interruptions
Third-party service failures
Results of following brewing recommendations

10Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Postbrew shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

11Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease immediately
We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

12Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
